Background -

Opioid Crisis was considered as public health emergency in US. Opioid Crisis lead to rise in the use of opioid drug. In today's date, Opioid drug become the primary drug of US which causes overdose death. According the reports of NIDA, near about 115 people died daily because of opioid overdose. Opioid have an adverse impact on the social and economic welfare of US.

Opioid works as an addiction to all the addicts, so Opioid is being misused by many people in US, they use Opioid at the place of heroin for their addiction purpose.

Policy questions - what are the steps US government is taking in order to deal with Opioid crisis ?

What were the drugs which are being used at the place of Opoid in order to minimize it's impact ?

How to enhance the economic and social welfare of US ?

Now, The US Department of Health and Human Services focusing their efforts in order to minimise Opioid. They are promoting the use of overdose reversing drugs in order to minimise it's use and protect people from its adverse effects. They are also focusing on the advancement of better practices for pain management for the welfare of their people.

US is also using Public health surveillance in order to understand and strengthen the epidemic. New innovative medications and services are also being implemented in order to reduce down Opioid impact. Improved overdose prevention and reversal interventions are being used by the respective department.

NIH director also launched the HEAL ( Helping the end addiction long term ) initiative in order to deal with such crisis. This initiative provide a scientific solution in order to stem the national Opioid public health crisis.

Research question - Research is done in order to find the implemented and to be implied steps of US towards opioid Crisis in order to save economic and social welfare.
