Federal sentencing guidelines are referred to as the rules that would be setting out sentencing guidelines, for the organisations and individuals who would be convicted for felonies and serious offences. The quest to affect America a safe place, has affected women of colour. There are only 2/3rd women who have been serving federal prisons and are present behind bars for the various offences of non violent drug usage. These women are known to be engaged in criminal activities. On theface, the sentencing guidelines are neutral, but the minimum laws of sentencing have not been shown to be completely gender neutral as these would not be recognising differences that are gender based in the various criminal behaviors.
Minority women have been viewed to be more probable for the sentence just like the male counterparts. This is because there’re us prevalence of racial injustice within the American criminal justice system, where, minorities and more specifically African Americans would be treated in a more severe form.
