Discuss your strategies—or current lack of strategies—for student success. Discuss steps you can take to improve your study habits and your time management. Do you see yourself implementing any of the key factors in grade improvement? Feel free to discuss how you did on the Importance of Focus and Active Reading self-test.
One of the most important things about a student’s academic success is self-discipline. This would mean that without self-discipline to mange one’s time and activities, a student wouldn’t be able to succeed. Secondly, prioritizing between equally pressing tasks is really important. For example, when one has an test the next day and one’s friends force one to go out, one needs to make a wise choice of preparing for the test because one could go out with one’s friends anytime. Thirdly, one should always organize one’s time in order to share equal or proportionate time for both personal and academic works. This would help one avoid one’s stressors or help one cope well with the stressors. Finally, one needs to develop enough connections in the academic institution not only to improve one’s academic skills and knowledge but also to seek for their guidance in terms of getting a career appropriate to one’s education. I need to help myself with managing my tasks and my friends because peer pressure is one of the most important things that is stressing me out because while I plan to spend more time for my studies, I also feel that I should belong to my group of friends.
