Chapter 15: Product Development and Supply Chain Management

COVID 19 health crisis that we all are experiencing is giving us a healthy dose of reality to understand the importance of this chapter. Some pharmaceutical companies are racing to develop vaccines and drugs for this epidemic, and others are racing against the clock to produce ventilators and other critical equipment to deal with this public health crisis. Retailers are struggling to move supplies and fill the shelves to meet our needs: food, medicine, toilet papers, sanitizers, and the list can go on. Government agencies at all levels are watching and trying to protect against so-called “entrepreneurs” that are moving supplies to geographies where they can capitalize and earn more dollars.

Again, given the time constraints, we will focus on the following points:

  • 15-2 Innovation: A path the grow
  • 15-3 The product life cycle and new product development
  • 15-4a Branding
  • 15-6 The legal environment
  • 15-7 Supply chain management

I highly recommend that you read the whole chapter to get the full benefit. Your assignment is to discuss the following:

1. Can you make an argument as to why a solid performing business DOES NOT need innovation to grow? Explain why!

Some of the major and large organisations are using in innovative techniques abettor development and connections in the market this is not true to say that organisations need not to have innovative techniques aur innovations for better development economy and for their revenue for example right now digitalization is a very renowned and innovative technic which are being used by several organisations for their better performance in the market now if we say that some solid organisations does not need this innovative techniques for their betterment in the industry globally this is not so far a true statement.

Now let us give argument in favour that solid performing business does not need innovations to grow as we know that they are fully settled with their manpower resources equipments and the revenue. They don't depends totally on innovations rather than there team and resources which comes under supply chain management which is a very big tool for the organisations to handle the things in emergency e and critical situations like the world which is facing ab big pandemic covid-19 some of the various organisations and industry rather than depending on innovations supplied various important items for the pandemic as mentioned ventilators drugs and other items. They have the proper equipments and resources and management to handle such kind of things even in pandemic so so I can say big solid performing business does not depends on innovations but I will not favour this is statement with some light running businesses in the modern world which has to depend on innovations to compete and be a confident can competitive among various others solid running businesses which can also boost the situations and various health issues economy and infrastructure for the whole world.
