What's the impact of COVID-19 on supermarkets supply chain/logistics/product flow on grocery product categories such as Trade Up/Bulk items?
Consumers from all the demographics are shifting to digital
shopping and delivery. There has been an unprecedented demand of
grocery and food in the entire ecosystem. Due to the COVID-19
pandemic has resulted in greater demand for groceries and essential
food items, which has lead to effect the credit flow of the
supermarkets and kirana stores. The retailers and manufacturers are
under the question that how can the current crisis effect the
future purchasing behaviour once everything is back to
normal.
The major problems arising in the current situation is that the
majority of the respondents are not able to get all the essential
grocery and food. The product flow of groceries has increased due
to the current pandemic situation. As per the needs of the
customers, the food and grocery items are being consumed in a bulk
and many others are not able to get the essentials for their
survival. The countries with strong agricultural background have
better conditions than that of the countries which are only
dependent on imports and industrial production.
