CPFR : Colloborative planning ,forecasting and replenishment is a business practice that integrates marketing best practices to supply chain planning and execution processes to fulfill customer demand.The purpose of CPFR is to boost the availability to the customer at the same time lowering costs involved in inventory, transportation and logistics
2. Texan Foods:Texan Food is a gourmet grocery chain business.Known for its Quality and variety of produce , the chain offers gourmet foods, a huge wine selection, cooking classes, breads, meats, cheeses, and exotic delicacies in an elite atmosphere.
Valley Bakers:Valley Bakers supply is a wholesale food distribution distribution company specializing in bakery related products and ingredients and packaging.It’s objective is to reducing the cost of the ingredients by volume purchasing and adept distribution.
The common goals of Texan Foods and Valley Bakers was that , when the inventory holdings for the baked products at texan food had outpaced forecasts, they decided to postion themselves as a inventory group selling Valley Baker’s Productsas their business needs were aligned in similar customer segments .Hence cooperative marketing campaigns were arranged in-store as well as directed advertising and ended up selling well.
3. A.Texan Foods wanted to share the
relevant sales and pricing only for the restricted range but Valley
Foods insisted in fulltime access to wide range of databases
,financial data from the previous years etc.
B.Texan foods wanted the pilot period to be for six months while Valley Baker wanted much shorter test period.
C.Valley Baker’s insisted in adding more of ther product to Texan Food’s list which they did not suffice to.
4. The reason why Valley Bakers
rshed to expand could be the greater vicinity they might acquire
with the collaboration , a better understanding and setting right
the process and procedures could be done . A proper system can be
put in place .
