Lawrence Kholberg has given the theories of moral develoment through six stage like Pre conventional (upto age 9 )ii) obidence and punishment Orientation.3) self-interest orientation.

2nd level Conventional ( 10 years old to Adolocent)

3. Interpersonal accord and conformity.

4.Authority and social order maintaining orientation.( Law and order morality)

Level - 3 post conventional ( adulthood).

5. Social contract orientation

6.Universal Ethical Principle

Stage-1 respect for power and punishment

Age (1-5) , a young child decide what is right according what he / she wants to do.To be right, so you must be obedient to power for avoidance punishment.

stage 2 ( 5-10) looking out for

Children age (5-10) tend to be self serving .They lack of respect to rights of other .Here it is more matter that if you scratch me then I will scratch you instead of loyality , gratude.

stage 3( 8-16): Being good boy or good girl:

People at this stage have shifted pleasing themselves to give important other for pleasing often parents , teachers , and friend .They seek approval and confrom to someone else expectations.

Law and order think:

The majority of people at age 16 , internalize society rules and regulations .They realize their own social responsiblity and duty and act accordingly social customs and social order .

Justice through Democracy:

People at this stage recognize the underlying moral purpose that are supposed to be served by laws and social customs.They have respect for law and sense of obligation to live by the rules.
