India is a beautiful country with a very rich spiritual and cultural heritage. Butnfortunately, there's a darker side of it too.

There are some cultural practices that can be said to be bad, rather brutal.

1- Baby tossing-

During typical festivals and on certain so called sacred occasions babies are tossed/ literally thrown from the tops of the temples.

The crowd below standing close to each other with a big set of cloth cathes the tossed/ thrown child. This is a very brutal and life threatening practice still being followed in India.

This challenges your limits of tolerance because the so called educated and insensitive masses do not care for the life of the infant/ child.

2- Killing an animal in the name of sacrifice-

On typical occasions or during some rituals and festivals, animals are even today killed.

It is the belief (in fact, a misbelief) of the people that act of killing/ sacrificing an animal like goat or buffalo expresses our gratitude towards the Lord/ Creator/ God.

It is indeed shameful to kill a life/ an animal in the name of God/ culture and ritual.
