Scenario- Workplace scenario dealing with affirmative action

Affirmative action is a government effort to promote equal opportunity to employees in the workplace. It is often considered as a means of countering historical discrimination against particular groups.

A firm is supporting training program for only female candidates and also developing outreach efforts to find qualified female candidates. Management of the firm planning to work on a specific project and for that project, it organizes a training program which is only for women at workplace, these trainings are not given to men who are also the part of this project. And management is also trying to hire more and more female employees at workplace. In past women are not treated as an asset of the firm, they are not engaged in jobs or work at organization. So the employer of this firm thought that it is important to raise them and improve their working condition and provide them different and varieties of opportunities to grow and enrich themselves. Employer is treated affirmative action as positive discrimination. It is not correct for firm to give training only to the female employees. Training should to giving to each individual who is working on that particular project to maintain efficiency and increase productivity of the firm. And management should hire diversified employees to maintain quality and for gaining competitive advantage. Supervisor of the firm also always listen to the problems of fem ale workers and not listen and take action against the genuine problems of the male employees.
