Pros:
1. One can learn as per their grasping rate
Actually Every Person in this world have their own learning rate. Means one student can learn and remember any thing by doing it by first time and other may need two - three or more than that to learn and remember same concept.
So in Video mode one can pause, take breaks, repeat the same video again and again until he evnetually get that which can't be possible or feasible in classes.
2. Enliven Learning
Words are words, but movies belong in the ''wow'' category. That's partly why they appeal to some teachers. Movies go beyond telling - they immerse students in a lesson.
.3 Pausing and Rewinding Allows Flexible Learning
One of the best benefits of video learning is that a person can pause, stop, rewind, and otherwise manipulate the timeline of learning. Unlike a traditional classroom or in-person training, a video learner need never miss something: as long as they have time to try again, they can go back.
4. Visual Learning is Powerful
Educational videos are primarily visual. While the audio is obviously a critical aspect of the learning, the combination of sound and visual content allows the viewer to grasp information more easily, especially information that is inherently visual.
5. Movies can be used to address additional learning styles. Presenting information in numerous ways can be the key to helping students understand topics. For example, having students watch the movie "Separate But Equal" can help them understand the reason behind the court case Brown v. Board of Education beyond what they can read in a textbook or hear in a lecture.
6. Motivate Learning
Even the most creative lesson plans can occasionally fall flat. Day after day, classroom instruction tends to revolve around the same language-based activities: reviewing homework, solving problems at the board, reading out loud, and working in groups. But when kids get bored, their engagement in lessons will fizzle, even if they include some type of visual learning.
A 2006 review of research literature on educational videos highlighted the unique ability of movies to motivate learning. Students connect with movies emotionally rather than just intellectually. They speak to all the senses. And because, contrary to some opinions, kids don't react to them passively, movies make them think and learn.
7. Support Diverse Intelligence
The use of movies in the classroom can not only fit in with the trend toward digital learning but also serve as an alternate strategy for providing content that suits the visual learners described in Howard Gardner's theory of multiple intelligences. These learners can acquire knowledge through traditional methods, such as reading a text, but they don't fully grasp a topic until images and pictures enter the learning mix.
8. Videos are Portable
Between the spread of the internet, battery-powered mobile devices, and electrical grids, video lessons can be watched just about anywhere on the planet. This enables widespread learning of lessons that were once geographically isolated.
This has many benefits. In rural settings, it eliminates the need for the student to head to a classroom or a university that may be located far away. In some regions, video training can preclude the need for expensive travel for in-person training.
And as you can see in this novel covid situation, how digital education, platforms becoming popular in learning and in coming years digital education will be part of life. Many of us or we are doing it now as student learns more from digital media then from class teacher.
