Is there a health care crisis? How does the health care system in the United States perform? How do we compare to other countries in terms of the following: costs, treatment, technology, and accessibility?
Answer.
One major issue with US healthcare system is that it is based around revenue and profits rather than safety and security. The increasingly high costs of medical insurance an health facilities have created a somewhat of a crisis situation where medical facilities are becoming more of a liability for aocnsiderbale section of tax payers.
The issue is furthers fueled by the existence of an unhealthy food culture. Obesity, Cigarettes, Fast Foods and Energy Drinks have largely transformed average Americans an unhealthier population compared to their counterparts in other developed countries like Germnay and France. With the increase in unhealthy lifestyles, the costs of mianatang our health have also increased manifold.
Moroever, agreaer financial burden in the health costs in the recent years hasn’t been the diproportional increase in he retired section of the population compared to the proportion of regular tax payers. People are living decades longer, but the annual cost to keep each one of them healthy isn't going done. We have more elderly now per capita than before the Baby Boomers and this means that more of the younger adult generation of workers are paying for the tax benefits and social securities of the elderly retired population.
Thus, the inefficiency of the US culture to stay healthy, as well as the disproportionate increase in the aging population has led a period of crisis in the US healthcare system. The best way to fix the problem is to encourage a drive towards healthy and activities life choices as opposed to unhealthy habits, as well as family and community led initiatives to extend care to the older members when they age.
