5 approaches for dealing with conflicts are:
1. Accomodating approach: It signifies more of cooperativeness. The manager can be reasonably accomodating or comforting to understand the conflict in a better way and they create goodwill among the employees. They are considered peacemakers.
2. Competing approach: It signifies more of assertiveness rather than cooperativeness. This approach can be used by a person who can exercise his power or strength for resolving the conflict. But the misuse of this power can lead to dis-agreement among the members.
3. Avoiding approach: This approach leaves the conflict unresolved as the manager wants to avoid the situational conflict. It can be used in situations which can create a threat.
4. Compromising approach: It signifies both assertiveness and cooperativeness moderately by resolving the situation which is accepted by both the conflicting parties.
5. Colloborating approach: It exerts a high degree of assertiveness and cooperativeness by creating a win-win situation for both the parties.
