In my opinion, parents wouldn’t encourage giftedness in children because it would force the children to narrow down their life into particular spheres of mental ability. This would mean that the children would be obsessed with their particular giftedness and may not try other things in life. When they grow, if they do not want to stick to the particular ability, they may find themselves in a great difficulty in terms of adopting to other skills. Secondly, encouraging giftedness would bring a superiority complex in children that would prevent them from behaving normally with other children. It would prevent them from developing rapport with other children. Thirdly, they might lose their interest as they grow because they would feel that they know everything that they learn from the school because of the fact that other children are not gifted thus, their learning speed and style would be different. They might get bored thus would end-up in behavioral problems. Finally, children should be children and they should be given their own enjoyment without pushing them to learn things in advance by keeping them busy.
