Introspection is the ability to consciously look and observe the interiority of ourselves. Children are very observant of their outer world, they look at everything and try to make sense of it. However, when it comes to knowing or understanding ones own self, they may not be able to do so. The parents can make the the child understand how the child thinks. For example. If the child is sad because his pet died, he could be told, "yes, i know you are feeling sad because you loved the pet so much, and suddenly the pet has died and you are feeling helpless right now." This make the child understand his own feelings and thought precesses. This gives them an idea of the impact or emotions a situation can cause. Childhood is a very crucial time for psychological development of a child, and if the child learn to be more conscious about their thought processes and emotions, they also learn to be more in control of it.
