As covid 19 the disease caused by the corona virus become more widespread throughout the country more employers or manager are likely to change their strategies and work plan for smooth and successful running of the businesses or company.
The manager and Human Resource department has to think and plan accordingly so that their employees and other working staff can perform. The Managers have the more responsibilities in this crucial period of covid 19 because he has to think both about the firm or company and for the working staff members as Governments of countries has already taken the decision of lock down for the wellness of their citizens in spite of knowing that it will harm our financial health but one of the Universal truth is that Health is Wealth we should not forget this.
The thumb rule of management is Planning, Organising, Staffing, Directing and Controlling. In this senerio the Manager has to handle an employee who is unbale to work due age and health issues for that some of stragies he can follow are as given below:
1.In this situation of covid 19 he must analyse the health condition of his employee.
2. If his health condition is not well then the manager must allow his employee to Work Home option as most of the companies is adopted this option for example IT companies, Teachers taking the online classes and many more.
3.In this situation the manager has to handle the age factor of the employee then he has search the expertise of his employee it means if employee is aged then he must be much more experienced in his work so the manager has to discover his strength.
4.The manager also have to follow the leadership strategies and one of it is Motivation. The manager must motivate and boost the morale of their employees.
5.In the morning the managers must allot the works to employees those who are working from home and those who are in office either on official whatsup group or through conference call and in the evening he must take the reporting of the work done and ask for the well being of the employees and if there is any issue in work and it must get resolved by the concerned team.
6.Last and the most important point if the employee of company or firm is in serious condition and not able to work home also then he must be allowed for paid sick leave and if there is no such policy in that company and the manager have to take decision and discussion with his HR team for such policy.
7.The manager can also ensure their employees by offering the health insurance policies to their working staff members and their families then the employee will be satisfied and only satisfied employee and work with healthy mind.
Now in conclusion the manager have to follow all the above six strategies at this point of crucial time for the proper functioning and smooth running of his company.
There are different working environment for different departments and industries and this situation is testing the skills of our managers how he can handle the employee in this crucial situation the manager has to use all his managerial skills for successful functioning of the company always remember a satisfied employee can work with healthy mind for his company.
