Why should entire communities be concerned over one person’s addiction? Why are our limited government resources being spent on addiction problems for individuals?
Communities are concerned about addiction even its one person. This is because, the drug or any kind of addiction can affect a person's mental and psychological health and the impairement on these health aspects can cause dangerous effect on any community. For example, the long term use of alcohol or drug causes mental disorders.Mentally impaired person attacks people or they are threat for many peoples life. Some people who are addicted to any substances may find any ways to earn money to purchase the expensive addictive substances.
Another impact of addiction is the loss of life. To be clearer, even one person can attract other people and the number of addictors can be increased. Especially among youngsters, peer group pressure plays a crucial role in addiction. This phenomena directly or indirectly affects the community.
I think the second question is what are thee limited government resources.
There are some government resources that is used for addiction problems.
There are community treatment services which provide councelling, detox managemen, peergroup support, opioid substitution therpies and medical treatmets.
Again, there are government hospitals run for anti addiction programms and treatments.
Government has developed a lot of family support services to support persons family and to prevent adverse effect of addictions.
