Why is your “activity space” important in the study of crime?
Activity space is a concept that is observed in criminology, sociology. Activity space identifies the main concept present in human environment, which would be identified as a location set in which the individual would be having direct contacts due to the adult interaction and the daily activities. At the heart of activity area, are the core geographic principles, which would be including distance decay or a decrease in the interactions which would give rise to directional bias.
A person’s Activity space would be would be characterised by their residence location. Their socio economic status, gender as well as age. Depending on their activity space, or the place thar a person is living in, they may be motivated to carry out criminal like activities, which may include theft or murder. This may be due to influence or requirement.
