A brief explanation of HVAC system and factors affect heat measurements for a building are mentioned below.
Hope it helps.
HVAC stands for Heating, Ventilation and Air conditioning system. The aim of this system is to maintain comfort condition inside a room. It can only be achieve by removing total heat generated from a room.
Factors that affect heat measurement for building HVAC system are:
1) Heat gained by the building components such as walls, windows and roof.
As wall and roof are exposed directly to sun so they absorb and gain maximum amount of heat by conduction.
Windows of a room are exposed to the surrounding so that heat from a sun enters in a room by the process of radiation. In this way the temperature within the room increases and the heat load on HVAC increases with it.
2) Heat generated by people also affect the HVAC system. Human body releases energy while doing a job (work done).
3) Electrical appliances such as refrigerator, lights, microwave, motors etc also releases energy in the form of heat which also enhances the level of heat load in HVAC system in a building.
