What is the different between traditional and preventive approached in healthcare, and how does proper nutrition fit into either approach? Which approach do you lean toward? traditional or preventive and why
The major difference between traditional & preventive approaches to health care is that traditional health care is reactive type means post evidence based methodology at the same time preventive health care is proactive means pre evidence based approaches.
In detail it means that traditional approaches treat problems when they have happened, like disposition of a diseases based on their best fit symptoms, on the other hand preventive approaches are used in advance to avoid arise of future problems.
It is reported that majority of hospitals offer preventive care, emergency and follow up care.
Furthermore ordinary healthcare is designed to help someone who is already sick while preventative healthcare is the action of introducing the concepts to a person's lifestyle & diet in order to offer a chance to reduce the risk of future to be diseases.
It is better described by using the example of a person who already has lung cancer Vs smoker who hasn't got the disease till that.
In both the cases preventive system is emphasizing more on the concept of balance diet/ food or proper nutrition as it is best fitted in the preventive system of the approach
We can control or reduce the future risks of so many popular diseases by modifying the lifestyle of the person py following the approach of proper nutrition.
Hence the concept of proper nutrition is best suited for the preventive approach rather than the traditional one.
At the end I would like to conclude that I will lean forward the preventive approach rather than the traditional as it is focusing the concept of the controlling the future chances of the disease in advance by the proper strategic value rather than when it is disposed in the population where no time for proper therapy is.
The preventive approaches can be implemented in better way than the traditional approaches since there is proper time for the justification of the therapy.
