Imaging techniques is used in creating images of multiple parts
of human body acoording to our choice and need for different
purposes like diagnosis, prognosis etc of a disorder
Multiple modalities are
- X ray imaging techniques-in this method X ray radiation are
used and when the impressions of xrat radiation are red in a filim
. This helps in diagnosis of specific bone fractures as well as
lung disorders
- Computed tomography techniques- in CT a patient is made to lie
on a bed of the CT machine and is allowed to move in . A number of
x-ray of the specific or complete body part is taken to diagnose
the condition. CT is important in detection of strock and other
conditions
- Positron emission computed tomography-in this techniqie a
radioactive neucletides is injected into the body's and a machine
detect the radiation emitted and the metabolic activity of body
.
- Magnetic resonance imaging techniques - in this procedure
patient is made to stay on a bed and is under a strong magnetic
field where the protons of his body will align in a specific
position. A pulse of electric current is then introduced that cause
spinning of the protons on body. Magnetic field gradient and
protons alight all of these give an accurate idea . This is
radiation free and is helpful in pregnancy
- Ultrasonography-in this techniqie ultrasound rays are
introduced to get and image . Mainly helpful in detecting
abnormalities in thorax and abdomen region
These are the mainly used imaging techniques
