Using your knowledge of the sensitivity and specificity for different imaging modalities, provide an estimate on the approximate time since onset ?
Medical imaging modalities, for example, includes magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), ultrasound, medical radiation, angiography and computed tomography (CT) scanners. In addition, to several scanning techniques to visualise the human body for diagnostic and treatment purposes.
A magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scan is a painless procedure that lasts 15 to 90 minutes, depending on the size of the area being scanned and the number of images being taken.
Actual scan times vary from a few seconds to several minutes. If no oral contrast is required, the examination will take about 15 to 30 minutes, including the time for intravenous preparation and interview. In some cases additional scanning is required as scans are tailored to suit individual diagnostic needs.
During the Angiogram
Your angiogram will be performed by an interventional cardiologist. The procedure will be performed in a hospital's catheterization laboratory, or “cath lab.” An angiogram typically takes from 45 minutes to one hour.
