What kinds of things motivate people? Is money the only thing that motivates people at work?...

What kinds of things motivate people? Is money the only thing that motivates people at work? What are intrinsic and extrinsic motivators? If it is not possible for a job to simply pay people more, what other things can they do to motivate their employees? How can you personally motivate and empower others? And, if you feel comfortable sharing, what motivates you? If you could think of something, other than money, that your employer could do to increase your morale, what would it be?

  • Creates a positive work environment . It means that employee should provide positive environment which encourage them to work effectively.
  • Increase in the salary also motivate the employee towards better compeletion of work in systematic manner.

  • Improved leadership program and better productivity techniques should be provided.
  • Listening employee problem and solve them systematic.
  • Improved individual and team performance in systematic manner.

  • Job Design in an organization as well as proper managing of the job in an organization.

Intrinsic motivators means that the motivation relies on person internal values and reward of feeling good to achieve a positive reaction .

Extrinsic motivation means that the motivation relies on the person money , praise or rewards of feeling good to achieve a positive reaction.

The other things from which we can motivate others are :

Environment of an organization , Culture available in an organization, Attitude or behaviour of the manager that motivate an employee.

We can personally motivate an employee through providing positive attitude as well as proper working environment available to them.

From my point of view, as an employee I motivate myself both with monetary as well as non monetary benefits in an organization. An increase in the salary as well as positive working environment and nice manager attitude.
