what are the steps involved in hooking up an electrical system from beginning to end of job. just an outline would be great...also permits involved. in canada
I mean hooking up lights and outlets how many per room etc
**Electric system and appliances have ratings written over them and standard manuals and qualified utility and service professionals to install any electric system .
**You have to apply for local power distribution utility for electric connection and utility people can provide service mains connection for that . Now, you have to hire a electrical contractor for designing the house wiring and electric installation in general cases .
You will need Canadian Electric code Electric Installation permit and Homeowner Permit to proceed further .
Contractor will design your wiring as per your needs like small rooms have 1 tube light and larger ones may have 2 tube lights or 4 bulbs .... Design is a variable thing done as per need of customer
Then he will install a distribution or DB box which will carry main panels of all the rooms and each room will have its own outlets which may be 3 pin or 5 pin 5 pin for heavy devices (those that need large amperes like 15 amps)
After installation of wiring and testing of any short circuit or open circuits , all rooms wiring are connected to DB box . Then finally inspection is done by safety inspectors and mains supply of utility is connected to DB box energising the Home with electricity !!
