What will motivate you in striving toward excellence in your first job after graduation? Please relate your reasoning by referencing the theory?

The need for sense of achievement, personal development, desire to build recognition and drive towards career orientation will motivate me to strive towards attaining excellence in my first job after graduation so that I can secure enough career opportunities for future and continuously grow. My motivation for achieving excellence will to a very great extend be influenced with my desire to prove my skills, capabilities and inturn also learn and progress in the process. Therefore Maslow's theory of motivation and its Self esteem and Self-actualization need will basically act as a motivation for me to strive hard for achieving excellence for grooming in the process. The Recognition and achievement will act as a motivation for me to do best in my first job which depicts the self esteem need in Maslow's theory.

Moreover my self driven and self motivated personality as described through Theory Y of McGregor’s theory of motivation also justifies my motivation behind achieving excellence. I will be motivated and eager to accept responsibilities, challenging tasks, workload etc because my theory Y personality which considers employees to be innately motivated
