Five stakeholders in the healthcare payer system are as follows:
1. Patients: The most important stakeholders are patients. The patients who depend upon the health care facilities for their recovery or survival.
2. Insurance company: Insurance company is a private company which focuses on the well being of an individual. It provides the individual with finance whenever the customer gets ill and requires the same.
3. Pharmaceutical firms: Pharmaceutical firms serve their products in the hospital for the recovery of patients. They are major stakeholders as there products/medicines are vital for the healthcare industry.
4. Physicians: Physicians have knowledge who treat the patients. Medicines don't work unless proper prescription is provided by the physicians. Therefore, physicians are the stakeholders of the healthcare industry.
5. Government: Government is an important stakeholder of the healthcare industry. Government makes policies in order to serve their citizen. Health care of poor people is highly dependent on the policies and services provided by the government in the field of healthcare.
