Solutions

Expert Solution

  • I agree with Freud since he placed significant emphasis on the importance of dreams and their interpretation as a means of accessing the unconscious mind in relation to self-discovery.
  • One of the analyses done by Freud shared that many dreams are for fulfillment of our needs and the dream for interpretation can uncover what we need or wish.
  • Our unconscious is like a memory storage that stores all the information that we see, hear, listen and touch in the subconcience. I will provide an example, sometimes we dream about an individual that we “never” met, but how many people we see per day on the street and TV? Do we pay attention to them?
  • We see so many people and we do not pay attention but our subconcience storage everything that we even think that we did not pay attention to. As a result, we see faces in our dream that we already saw and it does exist but we do not remember them since the information or images in store in our brain.
  • Dreams are extensions of ourselves and can bring valuable insight into the deepest aspects of our lives.Dreams reveal significant personal issues and deep seated responses to events that occur in our waking states, which ultimately shape our personality.
  • As dreams serve as mirrors for aspects of our waking life, they manifest content that is subject to personal interpretation. That is, it is the creativity in the dream work that allows one to tap in the unconscious mind and unfold the self.
  • The work of deep self-reflection through dreams –during sleeping and waking life- is an intimate and personal experience, one in which allows for a deeper relationship with the self for greater insight and personal development.
  • The process of self-enlightenment is a life changing experience in which one assigns personal meaning and generates insightful connections between aspects of the internal world in relation to those of the external world. The bridge between these two worlds is accessed through dreams.
  • The process of self-enlightenment occurs from accessing the self through deep, reflective thought to unfold the self. Dreams serve as messengers that instigate profoundly personal, dramatic, and complex experiences in which help to unfold and recreate the self throughout the process of self-development.
