Does enjoying the benefits of a political society obligate a person to follow its laws?
Social contract suggests that people sacrifice or handover some of their rights or privileges to the state and the state in return would protect people and their properties from each other. This would mean that people have plenty of rights and privileges from the society and they would reap the benefits from a society they belong to as its rightful member. This would mean that people also have some duties towards the state and one of the most important among them is abiding the laws of the land. Whether one chooses to enjoy the benefit or not, one is expected to abide by the laws because violating the laws may harm others on the society and create trouble for the smooth functioning of the society. So, it becomes important for one to follow the laws. However, if one is not able to enjoy the benefits of the society, one could always fight for it without violating the laws.
