describe two situation where ethical behaviour is a consideration for a procurement professional and explain appropriate actions in the circumstances?
A procurement professional is a person who would purchase goods and services having the combination of the best quality, price and service. Situations where a procurement professional has to have an ethical behaviour as an important consideration are:
1. A situation where the professional is dealing with the suppliers in the trade and procurement of the goods and services. Many suppliers would sometimes offer to sell you bad quality goods at a price very lower than the market prices where they would proclaim the fact that the customer won't be able to recognise the difference. An ethical procurement professional would have to act in the right and ethical manner where the preference would be given to quality and not the price as customers are entitled to attain the right quality products for a reasonable price.
2. Another situation where it is important for a procurement professional to show an ethical behaviour is the time where the person is dealing with the team members and the employees in your group or team. As being a leader among all, you have to be a person with high morale communicating the values of purchasing the right quality of goods and services using the right methods. Your team members would learn from you only thus it is very important to communicate and show an ethical behaviour in front of them. Always give preference to quality over quantity so that your employees and team members would work for the same.
