WHAT FINANCIAL IMPACT IS LIKELY TO HAVE ON AGING POPULATION ?A) INCREASE IN THE DEPENDENCY RATIO: If the retirement age remains fixed and life expectancy rate increases there willl be a relatively more people claiming for pension benefits and fewer people work on places with increased taxes. To increase in the dependency ratio it requires high tax rates to shrink the workforce. B) GOVERNMENT SPENDING ON HEALTH CARE AND PENSIONS: In spending money on healthcare and pensions , the government pay lower taxes to those who are in retirement period. For instance, in Wewstern government, higher spending commitments along with lower tax revenue is used in reducing the existing debt issues and unfunded pension schemes. C) PAY HIGHER TAXES: This can be ensured by creating disincentives to workersa nd to the firm to invest. D) SHORTAGE OF WORKERS: Shortage in the workers due to ageing population is a main concern in the working practices. This can be overcome by a) increasing wages b)encouraging more people to participate in to the workforce by offering time flexibility. E) CHANGING SECTOR WITHIN THE ECONOMY: An increase in the counting of elderly persons will create a bigger market for goods and services. WHAT NURSING ASSESSMENT, CARE MODIFICATIONS AND TEACHING ARE NECESSARY? As each medical condition is treated with a specific drug, which results in a correlating side-effects. However when assessing a patient who is already taking drugs, a care giver should always consider the development of any new signs and symptoms as a possible consequence of the patient'sdrug treatment. Nursing assessment, care and training is needed to safe medication management. these includes 1. assessing the appropriateness of a medication of the client based on their medical conditions. 2. upholding the client's rights in the medication process 3. should provide knowledge on allergies andsensitiveness. 4. knowledge of the actions, interactions, usual dose, route, side effects and adverse effects of the medications. 5. should provide knowledge about over the counter on medications 6. appropriate documentation on nursing assessemnt with time and date. 7. monitor the client before, during and after the medicine administration. 8. evaluating the effect of the medication on the client's health status. 6. WHAT CONCERNS NEED TO BE ADDRESSED WITH THE PHYSICIAN? Before applying a medications, the physician must have knowledge of the patient's clinical status. An assessment includes a) an appropriate health history. The most complete and accurate possible of drugs the patient is taking and any previous adverse reactions to drugs. The physician may verify this information by checking previuos records and databases or to other relevant medical information.b) An appropriate physical examination or investigations should be done to know the status of the patient conditions to other drugs. 7. WHAT END OF LIFE ISSUES MAY NEED TO BE ADDRESSED IN THIS SITUATION? It offers room for improvement.
