Conifer forests- conifers are a type of vascular plants , belongs to gymnosperms, needle like leaves, and have cone-bearing seed . the tree present in this region are tall, lightweight, straight and have soft wood useful for paper making industry as well as for furniture making industry. They generally grow in the region where there are short summer and have long winter duration.They are mostly found in the northern hemisphere in the region of tropical, subtropical and temperate region and very few found in the southern hemisphere. . they are comprising one third population of total forest.
Climate of the land depend on their location-
Temperate coniferous forests - where there are high rainfall with longer winter and warm and short summer climate is present. e.g Europe such as Norway, Finland, Sweden and north america such as canada as well as northern part of US
Tropical and subtropical coniferous forests- are found in the region where humid climate is present. e.g. Indonesia, Bhutan, India, Nepal,Philippines , Bahamas, Mexico etc.
Boreal forest also called taiga- where the extreme cold winter and extremely hot summer is found. e.g. Siberia , Canada
