1Early Childhood:

It is hard for us to imagine ourselves as little children or what our life was like then (let alone remember). You might have to ask a parent and/or other relative for some of the answers. Feel free to include other relevant information or stories about yourself. As you reflect back or find out about your life as a young child, consider how those early days might have influenced your development. Use the following questions to write your reflection Where did your family live when you were a preschooler? Who was living in the house? Did you share a bedroom? With who? Did you have a bedtime routine? What was your favorite toy? Story? Movie? Game? How did you celebrate birthdays? Holidays? Did you vacation? Where to? Did your parents work outside of the home? Did you go to daycare/babysitter? Do you recall any specific event that happened to you or your family? Who were your friends? Were you healthy? Sick? What was your personality? What is your earliest memory??

I believe that an individual's personality is shaped by his or her childhood events and the people he or she interacts with during that period. Having a good childhood is important as it determines a person's character and attitude as an adult. I'm grateful to have been blessed with beautiful childhood memories and parents who ensured that I had only positive experiences as much as possible. We are a small, happy family of four who share everything and cherish each other. My most fond memories of my childhood are my birthday parties that were celebrated beautifully with so many close friends, families, and neighbouring kids. My parents used to put in so much effort for these parties that I can't thank them enough for. During summer vacation, they used to take us on holidays mostly to my grandparents' places as they both loved their parents unconditionally. Now that's one thing they passed on to us--love for parents. I still remember my favourite toy from childhood was a lion soft toy on which I used to ride as a little human. I still have that toy, and it reminds me of all the good times during my childhood. I used to play all day long in my room with the insane number of toys I had. When I'd get tired, I'd fall asleep on the couch. My bedtime routine on other days was an early dinner followed by story telling by my mother who is never tired of taking care of us. On some days, I'd wait for my father who never came home empty handed. I'd wait to see what he got us every night, be it chocolates, cakes, toys, I'd wait so eagerly for him to come back from work. As I grew a bit older, I had gotten so involved with video games, and I'd play Mario all day long. It was my favourite. I don't remember falling too sick as a child so I'd always be running around the house and jumping over things. Contrast to the present, my mother tells me that I was a quiet child who rarely raised the voice. I consider this the biggest change in me as an adult who is an extrovert and loves to talk. Childhood experiences do influence an individual's personality because I have realized the impact my childhood has had on me today.
