The childhood obesity has become a serious public health problem that increases morbidity, mortality in children. Obesity has become a problem to combat due to increase in globalization, increase in use of technology. Today’s childrenuses multiple types of media and spend more time in front of computer, television, and game screens than any other activity in their lives except sleeping. The reasons foe increase in childhood obesity due to marketing are as follows:

  • The advertisment industry advertises more for the non-nutritious junk food. The kids gets attracted towards them and consume these food as a substitute for nutritious food.
  • The advertisment industry does not leave any mark in advertsiisng fo rtheri prodict. The psoters featuring the unhealthy foods will be seen all over the city, internet, television, etc. It becomes difficult for children to resist them. Children do not understand the persuasive intent of advertising.
  • Advertising directed at children this young is by its very nature exploitative. Children have a remarkable ability to recall content from the ads to which they have been exposed.
  • Product preference has been shown to occur with as little as a single commercial exposure and to strengthen with repeated exposures. Product preferences affect children's product purchase requests and these requests influence parents' purchasing decisions.
