1. Air Arabia is a leading low cost airline in UAE. Approximately 2,500 people are employed in the organisation. As a family run organisation, it emphasizes on traditions and culture a lot. The airline basically works on a low cost price strategy but effective operational reliability and efficiency. In line with this strategy, the airline has upgraded the HR business processes and did a HR digital transformation. The airline signed an agreement in 2018 with SAP, to get a new cloud based HR system which will help in core emplyee management functions, payroll, employee self service , recruitment and onboarding, performance and goal management. However, there was a very well organised business relation between the employees and the airline prefer loyalty and experince among the employees.

2. Ethical standards:

  • No females in board of directors- though the females are in senior positions but not in board of directors
  • Insider trading - to increase the level of transparency, the airlines allow equal opportunity to all the shareholders , equal to the insiders of the company
  • Accounts Auditor - KPMG was appointed as the auditor for the accounts and the airline takes the audit procedure very seriously
  • Internal trading Suoervision - No trade will be allowed based on the infomartion which is not public yet.
  • Internal control system - This system ensures the company's effective performance and risk management is not compromised while imposing procedures, conditions and administrative laws

3. The HR strategies had a positive impact on the orgaanisation performance. Due to the HR digital transformation, the staff was better managed and optimized. Due to the product uplift, the customer loyalty was the focus which ultimately led to cost, revenue optimization and customer experience.

4. The good practices promoted by HR strategies are:

  • Hiring - The hiring procedure iss the first step for any organisation to form its base. Unfit people can be a liability to the organisation.
  • Training - should be able to build a team spirit among the staff and should be empathetic towards the customer
  • The organisation structure should be well organised and managed by dividing the staff into groups and then allocating a leader for each group. This pyramid structure will help to manage the staff better.
  • Rewards and recognition is a very important part to encourage appropriate service behaviour. Staff will be encouraged to meet the extra mile in passenger service.
  • Cusstomer centric behaviour is the utmost important practice for this profession
