Animism is the belief that every living and non-living thing has spiritual value. The non-living things are mountain, sea, rain, sun, moon, in short everything a man can see have spirit in them. For us, it looks non-living but for them, God lives in each and part of the universe, a minute particle is also having spirit in it.
Hinduism, Paganism, Buddhism, Shinto are few examples of Animism.
The tribes in most parts of the world believe in the almost non-living objects as God. There is no such book on Animism; these are the stories that are coming from generation to generation in a culture.
Gilgamesh is one of the oldest stories that are preserved were in search of immortality Gilgamesh and his friend Enkidu (who was created by God) face the great flood.
There are many books in Hindu religion available on their n number of Gods with living and nonliving objects and they believe they all have spirits. The story of Hanuman, Shiva, the mythological story of Ram all has the essence of Animism. They believe in Gods made of rock, and mud believing they have spirit and are the creator of the world and human beings.
It is difficult for monotheists like Islam and Jews to believe that other than God there is anyone worthy of worship. The Christian belief in trinity but they are not Animisms.
