Answer: They produce endospores
Explanation: Endospores are the stiff, hard non- reproductive structure produced by some bacteria. These endospores allow them to lie dormant for an extended period of time or sometimes even centuries. Moreover, endospores can survive even without any nutrients. The major characteristic of these endospores is that they can resist high temperatures (even at boiling point), UV rays, extreme freezing, and even chemical disinfectant.
On the other hand, thermophiles can also survive at high temperatures but on the basis of classification of optimal growth of these thermophiles, there are three types:
> Simply thermophiles: survive between 50-64 degree celsius
>Extreme thermophiles: survive between 65-79 degree celsius
> Hyperthermophiles: survive beyond 80 degree celsius
NOTE: To resist boiling point temperature it needs to resist 100 degrees Celcius. Here in options if there were hyperthermophiles then it would be correct else endospore is correct one.
