1. Public Health nurses bring leadership, policy, planning, and practice expertise to disaster preparedness, response and recovery.
Most importantly public health nurses act as community advocates.
Public health nurses to assure capacity to respond effectively to disasters and emergencies.
Assess the population at risk for special needs during a disaster
Develop plans to care for people's special needs during a disaster
Conduct training, drills, and exercises related to care of special need persons.
DURING DISASTER :
During disaster it is imprortant for the public health nurses to understand the disaster cycle and intergrate
During a disaster the nurse may be assigned to various tasks such as delivering first aid and medication, assesing the state of victims , and monitoring mental health needs.
2.COMMUNICATION CHALLENGES DURING DISASTER :

# Internal Communication among emergency response personnel and their agencies.
Common Technical Issues:
a) Saturation of the Mobile phone network
b) Out of range television and radio communication
c) Lack of power supply , destruction of conductors.
d) Language and cultural differences along with low safe literacy
SOLUTIONS:
a) Redundancy of communication channels because when one communication fails another channel can be used.
b) Providing seperate communication network for crisis management.
c) Use of Social Media
3. Planning and Coordination is the main aspect of disaster management as coordination disaster saves lives
To keep a clear picture of the available health services during disaster coordination care is essential
To provide relief and assist recovery for the affected ones.
Coordinated care helps to reduce health care costs by eliminating redundant tests and procedures.
Note : There is a chance for choas when there is no coordination among caregivers during a disaster.
