First order change:

First order change initially involves the clear understanding of the current situation, planning for the change and starting the incremental change for improving the current situation. First order change is continuous in nature and these kinds of changes do not alter the system.

Second order change:

Second order change involves the qualitative change in the entire system including the changes being made in the rules and regulations of the organisation. Second order change is carried out in the discontinuous manner.

As far as Global support organisation is concerned, the first order change is usually carried out to adapt to the changing technology for performing the welfare of the society. These changes involve making the people aware of the positive impact of change on their lives. Further the organisation performs the incremental changes in which the various programs are carried out under the welfare schemes keeping the prevailing situation into consideration. These include providing the skill based training to the youth in case of the increasing unemployment by making them learn about the latest technology used in the industry.
