what happen metabolically when we are awake compared to when we are asleep? (focus more on the "awake")
Metabolism while awake is determined on the basis of burning of the calorie when we sleep we use to store calorie and this calorie starts burning when we are awake and number of calorie used depends on resting metabolite rate (RMR) and this is determined by several factors
like i would like to discuss some of them these are:-
when we are awake we are more metabolically active and burns more energy as compared to the sleep only also we if we live a sedentary lifestyle. and more vigorous activties burn more calotrie example is dancing running etc and that too also depends on your weight of same distance that how much calorie you gonna burn.
" METABOLISM" refers to all the chemical process occuring in the body that allows the normal functioning of the body called homeostasis.
we say that anabolism + catabolism is metabolism when the breaking down of the molecules in the simpler one for body requirement and also formation of big molecules for emergency all determines the body metabolism.
and for all this building and repairing of the body energy is required and this is provided by the blood and this energy is measured in kilojoule and this given time and energy is affected and depends on metabolism.
if your metabolism is slow then the body will react and less energy in calorie will get.
because there is a fixed amount of energy in kilojoule for body to body depends on personal weight and body compostiton which we need to take through diet that is liquid solids etc and if we take sufficient of it then body functions runs normally and some of energy stored as a fat for emergency.
and this energy in kilojoule is used by involuntary processes in the body throughout the body and if we do any voluntary processes say exercises then body needs extra energy for them.
THIS is all about metabolism during awake if we talk about sleeping then the metabolic rate reduces by 15% in sleep and gets minimum in morning
on overall 80% is the basal metabolic rate required for all reactions and process in body also the utilization of glucose by the cells is most active during awake and very low during NREM ( NON RAPID EYE MOVEMENT SLEEP) which is dreamless sleep. and intermediate at REM ( RAPID EYE MOVEMENT SLEEP) .
AND GRWOTH HORMONES AND CORTISOL levels are more active during the sleep and they are doing the process in earlier phase of sleep and gets low during later in sleep.
good wishes.
