Why is it important for engineers to consider the environment in their projects?

Engineering projects play very important role for improvement of human life with respect to socio economic and cultural development. Engineers are solely responsible for application of scientific principles for practical purposes, but at the same time account accounting the environmental factors is also important. Engineers must ensure the development by fulfilling the needs for present demand without compromising with the needs of the future generations . Engineering application to improve the quality of life is need of time, but it should be done with minimal use of natural resources and paying attention with regard to environment.

Exhaustion of resources, rapid population growth, damage to to the ecosystem and environmental pollution are some challenges for engineers today. We can understand it with a little exmaple of pollution of new Delhi ( India) and bejieng (China). Both are capital of very fast developing countries in the world, but both are struggling with most destructive air pollution problem. So in this scenario, any engineer who is working there must consider this environmental problm and they should manage their work which will reduce the problem.

So this way we knew that, why engineers should consider environment.
