What explains the gender pay gap in Australia?

Equal pay for women was introduced in Australia in 1969. In 1972, this was extended to provide for ‘equal pay’ for work of ‘equal value’. Despite such decisions and a range of other anti-discriminatory provisions, in August 2018 the Commonwealth’s Workplace Gender Equality Agency noted that:

‘The full-time average weekly ordinary earnings for women are 14.6% less than for men …Among non-public sector organisations with 100 or more employees, the gender pay gap for full-time annualised base salary is 17.3% and 22.4% for full-time annualised total remuneration’

Given the fact that in today’s workforce females aged 20-29 have higher levels of education than males, to what extent do you believe that this wage gap is a ‘legacy’ issue (i.e. it reflects past male advantages in education and training that will be overcome as the current generation advances their career) or, alternatively, an indicator of continued systematic disadvantages confronting females in the workforce? write a research essay

I do believe that this wage gap is a legacy issue, because the whole world consideration given an important part to the male from the ancient to the present. The human has named each of the specious in the world ecosystem in depending on the beauty of each genus like a visible discrimination also here as most beautiful gender in a genus gives as male and other as female. For example, In the case of peacock, Here male is the most beautiful one. Lion, here male is more royal one, etc. This essay supports the argument that this wage gap in the workplace is a legacy issue.

To begin with, the workplace is a place where humans find their daily bread and butter for a good life. Ancient times in all over the world believe that the girls are born to maintain the population, fulfill the internal needs of the family and personnel needs of men. Somewhere, they may act as a machine or robot in the homes or society. From the very beginning our society in the globe where notice male-dominant observations in every manner.

However, present scenarios on the women are completely changed. Our planet women have broken those walls and focused to empower themselves. Nowadays, every woman in the sphere has a good level of education in their area of study. It has led a position which may carry leadership roles in areas such as Diplomatic, Health, Engineering, writing, Managerial, Research, Scientist, Etc. Besides, most respectable one is, some of the ladies are being an owner to the large firms in the globe other are leading some nations.

Furthermore, Present society has some discrimination over the women as part of this male dominance. In some cases equal education qualification carrying a male and a woman have different wages only because of this legacy issue. Some management has a very high level of male dominance behavior in their appearance and way of approaching the manpower. They strongly believe that, females never been an alter ego to a male, so that the operational areas and wage outcomes crucially differentiated with the ladies.

Another reason to consider, some places in the continents also observe a lack of law on women empowerment and equal wages of work. Because, the truth of today agreed with the equality of gender in all manner. If, the employee has the qualification required for the designation is satisfied and the employee has ready to accept in the behavior of work ( As per law) the employee should pay in an equal manner. Reality is against somewhere in the sincerity. Somewhat it shows, as I already mentioned that some male personnel past experience of any type of legacy mostly affects the wages part.

To conclude, this wage gap is a ‘legacy’ issue in many of the organizations around the globe. also we need to remove it from the workplace to confirm them a quality to their same payments. Let us always remember that, male dominance is not a good culture for the future generation. so, it starts from us to remove all considerations of the dominance of someone in any areas of payment or work-life etc. Let us begin a good culture and good government governance on the same.
