Do you have any ethical qualms about applying the wisdom of social judgment theory? Why or why not?

Expert Solution

I do not have any issues in using social judgment theory. It suggests that people would judge an oncoming perception in terms of event, person or attitude depending on one’s present standing or present attitudes. This would mean that one would have three options such as, acceptable, unreasonable and neither acceptable nor unreasonable. Thus, people would choose the one which is closer to what others see as acceptable and unreasonable. This is a mechanism through which people arrange ideas, opinions and attitudes in their mind. People are the products of their environment and they would have their own cognitive schema or worldview and based on that they would arrange ideas and attitudes in their mind depending on where they stand in terms of their social position. However, it may change over a period of time. Nevertheless, people would choose attitudes and ideas that are congruent with others.
