Nursing Informatics centers on the concepts such as data information, knowledge and wisdom

Concept of wisdom is appropriate application of knowledge to the management and solution of human problem. Nursing wisdom is based on clinical judgement and a thinking in action approach encompassing intuition, emotions and sense. All these things link wisdom to performance or nursing practice, leading one to recognise that wisdom must be tied to actions using skills and knowledge. Hence these observational and reasoning skills in order to make sound, reliable clinical judgements. And this is critical to nursing profession. Many researches are invaluable in constructing a information systems to help expert health care practitioners and support their decision making processes of more novice nurses.

2. Terminological work in nursing is been going on for a number of years. The several factors in addition to the problems associated with natural language seem to conspire to provide a particular fertile ground for the development of knowledge bases and the growth of evidence based practice.

Example: American nursing diagnosis association taxonomy

Nursing intervention classification etc

3. Nursing practice and the knowledge on which it is based could be enhanced through the use of a novel expert system. Taxonomies of data, diagnosis objectives and interventions would make it possible to compare patients and to determine the relative effectiveness of nursing interventions.

4. Decision making and evidence based practice should be carried out for each patient every day using data to wisdom continuum.
