Web information with a listed author is one indication of a credible website. It is a good indication that the information is reliable that the author is willing to stand behind the information presented (and, in some cases, include his or her contact details). The website allows readers to make decisions about whether that information is sufficiently recent for their purposes, by including a date.
Reporters write a lot about politics and there are plenty of blogs out there. But all of these are run by biased groups in support of one political party or ideology. A conservative website is unlikely to report on a Liberal leader critically, and vice versa. Steer clear of platforms that have a political ax to grind, and opt for non-partisan platforms instead.
