Solutions

Expert Solution

  • Equality is all about treating everyone at the same level without any discriminations. Not treating people differently based on certain characteristics.Equality is about providing equal opportunities to everyone.Diversity means understanding and taking into account the differences that exist between people and groups. And when one understands the differences and respects those differences between people, then the treatment becomes equal.
  • When you embrace cultural diversities especially in your workplace, then equality flourishes. When organizations are culturally competent, provide diversity training to their employees to respect and be aware of the differences that exist between co-workers coming from different cultural backgrounds, then only equal opportunities would be provided to them.
  • For example, discrimination happens when black workers are given less training or less authority in decision making process, than white workers. This is neither equality nor embracing diversity. When all the workers accept the differences between black and white workers, provide them equal opportunities in terms of work, pay etc.;that makes the workforce and organizations a diverse one.
