Water is important and essential thing in our body it has following functions
1.regulates body temperature
2.moisten tissues in the mouth, eyes and nose.
3.protects body organ and tissues and helps dissolve minerals and nutrients to make them accessible to your body.
3%normal saline is a hypertonic solution. Depending on the solution rate it varies the symptoms, it causr overloding of solute cause pulmonary edema. Hypervolemia occurs not hypo volemiaor dehydration,hypertonic solution ie 3%saline cause decreased icp.
19year old male have more water content.because lean or average body muscle containg person have higher concentration of water than obese.older person have lesser water content because of less adipose tissue.
Assess and document IV site, type of fluid and volume infused, accurate rate of infusion for patient. Assess for patency/occlusion, any signs of infiltration.
