How is building a brand in a business-to-business con- text different from doing so in the consumer market
✓ building a brand is an important activity of marketing. A brand is anything, (name, logo, products, design, etc) that brings acknowledgment and value to the company and is positioned in the minds of the people. In the context of business to business, approach to build a strong brand is totally different as compared with business to consumers.
Marketers focus on business partnering and developing relationships with different organisations or companies, who are the prospective clients/customers. To build a brand, it is important to build healthy business relationship with business clients and to understand their requirements by approaching them directly. There is no targeted niche or broad customers raneg in b2b.
In business to consumers b2c, the firm needs to consider the target market, needs of the people, and plan the activities, positioning strategies, and try to reach largest amount of people by contracting with retailers. It is not possible to have direct approach to each customer, and build relationships. Companies try to reach larger audience, with various tactics and try to appeal to the people with their offerings.
