The de Broglie wavelength of a proton in a particle accelerator is 1.81 × 10-14 m. Determine the kinetic energy (in joules) of the proton.
First
we have to find out the momentum by debroglie wavelength formula.
Then we will check the velocity of the proton by momentum formula
used in special relativity. If the velocity is less than 10% of the
speed of light then we can ignore the special relativity and use
classical mechanics. Please comment if you have any doubts...
