Obesity is the most common problem experienced by children and adults which is a predisposing factor for Diabetes, hypertension, cardiac problems and other chronic diseases. Obesity is overweight , increased body mass index , increased waist circumference.

Obesity is common in children and leading cause for death in young age.

OBESITY IN CHILDREN:

Obesity in children is a serious public health problem which is gradually increasing at present, Numerous illnesses follow obesity.Obesity in children is because of more intake of calories and less physical activities. Nowadays children got addicted to modern technology like playing games in computer, smart phones ,etc . Their are not burned instead stored as adipose tissue which leads to overweight problems .Obesity in childhood leads to an obese adult. Many chronic conditions are caused by overweight.Life expectancy rates may decrease for the obese children as the heart is stressed more .Heredity and environment also leads to obesity in kids , especially school going children are attracted towards fast food restaurants than fruits & vegetables. The consumption of fast food leads to increase in saturated and trans fat, high in sugar ,high in calories & sodium leading to excess energy imbalance.According to a survey children consume about 55% outside food.

OBESITY A LEADING CAUSE FOR DEATH:

Obesity is an epidemic in United states and in other developing countries. Obesity leads to serious chronic illnesses which are becoming leading cause of death. Obesity is a risk factor for diabetes and hypertension which lead to renal disorders and cardiac problems which are irreversible.It is said that more than two third of population is affected by obesity. People live a sedentary life style nowadays , no physical activities like walking or swimming or playing outdoor. Always sitting in a place , working before a system which makes feel hungry resulting in drinking calorie rich sweetened artificial drinks, caffeine products, and alcohol. When food is not prepared in home as there is no time , many individuals rely on fast food and calorie rich foods leading to obesity. Obesity leads to depression. Obesity leads to dyslipidemia, cardiovascular diseases, osteoarthritis, infertility , some types of cancer, liver diseases, sleep apnea , loss of confidence, stress, depression.

Diabetes and hypertension are both fatal when in chronic stage shutting down renal and cardiovascular system.

OBESOGENIC ENVIRONMENT IS surrounding without access to physical activity like walking lane ,etc, more fast food restaurants which leads to lack of fiber rich diet , friends and family who also always consume diet less in fibers and good fats which indirectly leads us to eat the same consumed by them.
