(a) what is the SMART temperature sensor? list four features that makes it most suitable for use in biophysics

(b) In which two ways does the synapse transmit signals?

Solutions

Expert Solution

Answer of (a):

Smart temperature sensor is an integrated circuit which mainly contains the analog to digital signal converter. Further, smart temperature sensor can also send and receive control signals wirelessly if any wireless module is integrated. This type of temperature sensor measures temperature of human body or any parts of human body and then it converts the signal from analog to digital.

Four useful features of smart temperature sensors in biophysics:

  • Real time temperature monitoring and data logging of the human body
  • Remote temperature monitoring of human body
  • Personal patient's temperature monitoring through telemetry by physician
  • Real time temperature sensing of sports persons
  • Real time temperature sensing inside human body while patient is being operated

Answer of (b):

In the brain, neurons communicate with one another through junctions which are known as synapses. Neurons communicate one another basically two ways through synapses. In chemical communication, one neuron sends signal by using chemical messengers through synapses. In electrical communication, one neuron sends signal by using ions through synapses.
