Non communicable diseases also known as chronic disease, are not passed from person to person.they are of long duration and generally slow progression.the four main types of communicable diseases are cardiovascular disease, cancer, chronic respiratory diseases, diabetes.
Costs for treating diabetes ranged from 1.8%of gross domestic product in Venezuela to5.9%in Barbados.latin America and Caribbean region, diabetes health care cost were estimated at US dollar 65billion annually,or between 2%and4% of gross domestic product(43) and 8%to 15 %of may health care budgets.
Oman is high income Country and its per capita expenditure on health is lower than that of neighbouring gulf states.treatment of cardiovascular disease alone will account for 21%of the total health care expenses in Oman in 2025.
World wide 235 million people are affiliated by asthma.it is mst common chronic disease in children.64mllion people suffer from COPD,a term that covers emphysema and chronic bronchitis.
NCDs already disproportionately affect low and middle income countries where already 80%of NCD deaths 29million occur. They are leading cause of death in region's except Africa.
2)ans)the burden of COPD in the western pacific region is three times higher than the global average.studies by the US centres for disease control and prevention show that adults living below the poverty line are about 75% more likely to report COPD than those with income 200%or more above the national poverty line.
While women were 60%more likely to self report COPD,when obstructive pulmonary disease is objectively measured by lung capacity, men have higher prevalence.
